Do you understand the information and recommendations provided within the AU Inquiry into the teaching of Literacy (2005)? This inquiry was in line with The Rose Report (UK) - another government funded research project, carried out to find out why we are failing so many of our children with regards to literacy |

Read Australia™ welcomes you to 'Phonics Australia™!' Working with parents and teachers to raise standards of literacy across Australia by acknowledging the findings, and addressing the recommendations, outlined in the AU Inquiry in the teaching of literacy, 2005. Our priority is to ensure that teachers use a preventative approach to illiteracy- refusing to allow children to fail to learn to read and spell well within the first three years of school. |
Please ask us about delivering literacy related workshops and training at The Early Reading Centre™, on the Gold Coast SE Queensland- we have a training centre,
with on-site refreshments., set in a beautiful tranquil setting with ample car parking! |

|
| A variety of programs and strategies are used, in order to meet the individual needs of children eg THRASS, Jolly Phonics, Superphonics (Read Write Inc) ALL are based on phonics- not 'whole words'; we teach children to crack the code, so that they are not relying on memory- and then struggle when they come across new words. Why make things complicated? We teach children to crack the code, and read as quickly as they, the individual, are able to do so. |
 |
| If you have quality phonics activities and/ or programs please do contact us! If they meet the criteria, we are happy to offer information on the Read Australia and Phonics Australia web sites, and may even use them at The Early Reading Centre, SE Queensland |
Through our Head Office-
The Early Reading Centre™,we offer private sessions, small group coaching, workshops &
training for parents and teachers. |

The Child Listener™ created 'Read Australia™' in 2006 and is opening
The
Early Reading Centre™ in June. Emma, along with
other literacy specialists,
will
teach you
- the parents
and carers- how
to teach
your child to
read and spell,
and ensure that you know
what
your
child's
teacher
should be doing
(according
to the recommendations
outlined in the
2005 government report )
You will be
able to offer fun, quality,
learning experiences
and opportunities
for your
children
at home.

ALL children will learn to read using a systematic direct approach
to teaching
reading and spelling using phonics- so this should be
used for ALL children
,
not later on
with those who are failing. By empowering
parents, more children
will read quickly, feel
good about themselves
- and become 'reader's for life!
